Several days a week all year round, The Akaroa Cooking School shares recipes, cooking ideas and entertaining secrets for up to twelve participants.

Upcoming classes such as "Autumn Harvest", "Fresh from the Wharf" or "Winter Bistro" show participants how to prepare dishes in a relaxed and fun environment. You will learn all about where the food has come from and many stories will be told and your questions answered.

Get out of the city and let the kids run free, exploring "nature at its loveliest" in a rewarding family friendly country environment. Akaroa Cottages have 2 & 3 bedroom cottages ideal for families wanting to spend a memorable holiday altogether with children, parents, grandparents and friends, all on our beautiful property.

Each cottage is separately located with its own private garden. There is only 50-100 meters between cottages and well maintained paths so larger parties are easily accommodated while still giving everyone peace and space.

For parents there is no need to pack the kitchen sink..we can provide cot, high chair, washing machine & dryer usage and can book & recommend a full range of activities for your stay.

This local cruise operator offers a small number of guests an intimate experience with comprehensive commentary on the harbour and history of Akaroa included . Enjoy the refreshments on board and view the world’s rarest and smallest dolphin, the friendly Hector’s dolphin, which you’ll undoubtedly experience on the cruise.

You’ll also see fur seals sunbathing on the rocks, little blue penguins, marine salmon and paua pearl farms and a variety of fascinating sea birds including five species of cormorant, black-backed gulls, red-billed gulls, shearwaters, terns, prions, mollymawks, petrels, skuas, oystercatchers, albatross and more.
